The One Home One Garden programme is a Government initiative, implemented by Enterprise iLembe and it is changing lives one household at a time.
Enterprise iLembe Board Chairperson Mr Nkosenhle Mngadi and CEO Mr Siyabonga Mazibuko visited the project in the Shakaville area, KwaDukuza, to engage with beneficiaries and witness the positive impact the programme is making in the community.
The One Home One Garden initiative encourages families to grow their own vegetables at home.
By doing so, households can improve food security enjoy healthy and nutritious meals, reduce grocery costs, and earn extra income by selling surplus produce. The project also promotes self-reliance sustainable living and stronger communities.
As part of implementing the programme, Enterprise iLembe also supported local farmers and households by providing vegetable seedlings helping beneficiaries establish and expand their home gardens to ensure sustainable food production.
During the visit CEO Mr Siyabonga Mazibuko encouraged beneficiaries to continue caring for their gardens, saying that every seed planted today is an investment in a healthier, more food secure, and more prosperous tomorrow. Board Chairperson Mr Nkosenhle Mngadi also commended the community for embracing the initiative and making it a success.
Enterprise iLembe remains committed to implementing programmes that empower communities promote sustainable livelihoods and drive local economic development.
