Enterprise iLembe is hard at work supporting local businesses and young entrepreneurs across the iLembe District.
Enterprise Ilembe responded to Gakanye Trading (Pty) Ltd request, a youth-owned poultry farming project specialising in broiler production, based in eChibini, Ward 5, under Inkosi Ngcobo kaMlamuli in Ndwedwe Local Municipality.
The project is part of the bigger vision of building a stronger rural and township economy, where local people are supported to start, grow and sustain their businesses.
Enterprise iLembe Board Chairperson, Mr Nkosenhle Mngadi, has emphasised the importance of developing the rural and township economy and creating opportunities for youth, women and people living with disabilities. Supporting local entrepreneurs means helping communities become more economically active and creating opportunities closer to where people live.
Enterprise iLembe CEO, Mr Siyabonga Mazibuko, has also highlighted the importance of supporting local businesses in the food security and business development value chain. Poultry farming is not only about producing food — it can open doors for suppliers, farmers, transporters, retailers and other businesses within the value chain.
Through its support to local entrepreneurs and MSMEs, Enterprise iLembe continues to connect people with opportunities, strengthen businesses and promote inclusive economic development across the district.
